About Eastern Hills Community Church

Eastern Hills Community Church began in the early 1980's with a group of people who had vision to create a ministry in the Aurora area. After worshiping in a variety of temporary settings, the church moved into the first phase of the building at 19697 E. Smoky Hill Road in October of 1989. In May of 1999 we opened the remainder of our previous facility. In July of 2008 we moved into our current facility at 25511 E. Smoky Hill Road. This new facility is 70,000 square feet.

Our Senior Pastor, Shawn Sikkema arrived in the summer of 1989. Over these past 22 years, we have grown from about 100 people in worship on a weekend to our current size of 2,400 people on a weekend.

We are aligned with the Christian Reformed Church of North America. You can learn more about the CRCNA here.

Our Purpose

Eastern Hills Community Church exists to help people take their next step toward Jesus. Our Seven Priorities

Our Priorities

To accomplish our vision, we have established these seven priorities:

  1. We will be a place of grace.
  2. We will challenge people to take the step of accepting Jesus as their Savior.
  3. We will help people become more like Jesus, one step at a time.
  4. We will provide vibrant, relevant worship.
  5. We will minister to people at the point of their need.
  6. We will serve the overlooked and ignored.
  7. We will be a church of small churches within the larger church.
