Helping Hands

Helping Hands is a short-term one-on-one (or family) care ministry within the Eastern Hills fellowship that supplements the more usual support of family, friends and neighbors, or small groups by:

  • Preparing and delivering a meal
  • Arranging and providing transportation for a medical or other significant appointment (chemo treatments, funeral arrangements, transportation for a job interview, etc).
  • Providing short-term child care for parent(s) who may need such during a medical emergency, doctor's appointment, job interview, etc., when their usual child care provider(s) is unable to assist in a given situation.

In Reach Callers

"In Reach Callers" is a one-to-one care ministry within the Eastern Hills fellowship with two significant empahses:

  1. A regular (weekly or established frequency) 1 to 2 1/2 hour visit with a "shut-in" and/or to relieve his/her primary care-giver for a specific time.
    • Read or listen to music.
    • Visit or Converse.
    • Play games.
    • Share a hobby (knit, sew).
    • Assist with some agreen upon light task (pay bills, fill in forms).
  2. A regular (at least weekly) phone call to connect with, encourage, to otherwise support and pray with a "shut-in" or a person who is out-of-town temporarily for work or business (such as in military training), or a lonely or 'disconnected' person.

Hospital Visitation

"Hospital Visitation" is a team of volunteers within Eastern Hills who visit members of our congregration that are hospitalized beyond three days. The Care Pastor will make an initial visit on the first or second day while team members make successive visits as requested or assigned by the Care Pastor.

Card Care

Card Care is a care ministry of correspondence with volunteers to let people know we are thinking of them and praying for them through life's struggles.
