Small Groups come in many different shapes and sizes. They are usually made of 8 to 12 people that are in similar stages in life i.e. singles, young couples, families with young children, families with children in school, empty nesters, women, men etc. Some groups are activity based such as the Camping group, Diners Club and a motorcycle group.
So how do I join a small group?
Good question. Here are a few ways for you to get involved in a Small Group:
- Join or help start a Special Interest Group
Special Interest Groups are formed by someone asking "Do we have a group for ____________ ." You fill in the blank and that is the start of a Special Interest Group. There are several groups that are already meeting and some are open to new members, scroll down to the bottom of the page to find "Open Groups" for more information. - Join a Sermon Based Study Group (Starting Mid February)
Sermon Based Study Groups are a great way to check out Small Group life. You would be committing to meet with a group for 6 to 8 weeks to discuss the previous week's sermon. Sign up online and scroll down further to get more information on what a Sermon Based Study Group is all about. - Join a Dinners For 8 Group (Sign up in April, the 1st dinner is in May) Dinners for 8 are groups of usually 8 people that meet for 4 dinners during the months of May, June, July and August. Some groups meet in restaurants, but most meet in homes over a pot-luck dinner. This is a great way to meet people and fellowship through the summer. Sign up online.
- Fill out a Small Group Survey
By filling out a survey you will help us to match you with other people that also want to get into a Small Group. Surveys are available here or at the Information Table in the Lobby. - Contact Kristy McGovern at 303-688-2513 or via email at: kmcgovern@ehills.org

- Small Group Facilitator/Mentor BBQ Wednesday 6:15 to 8:15 pm in the Fellowship Hall. This event is for people interested in facilitating or mentoring a new Small Group or current group facilitators. Join us for dinner and leave knowing the vision of Small Groups and the basics of what it takes to get one started. Childcare will be provided.
- Church Picnic has been tentatively rescheduled for July 20th at the Aurora Reservoir. Watch the bulletin for details.
- Rockies vs the Padres Sunday August 10th. Join us to celebrate the 4th Annual FAITH DAY. Tickets are $10 each and will be in the Upper Reserved Infield (in the shade!) Tickets will be on sale at church in July.
Sermon Based Study Groups
Has God been tugging on your heart, urging you to join a Small Group? Or maybe you keep hearing about Small Groups but have no idea what they are and do not know if they would be the place for you.
Sermon Based Study Groups will meet weekly to discuss the previous sermon using discussion questions much like the questions currently provided with the sermon outline. Groups will be formed by putting together people that are in similar stages in life and that have common available meeting times. Each group will be a little different based on the needs of individual members; some will meet over a meal, some will include a time of worship, some may spend most of their time in prayer. Hopefully all groups experience joy filled fellowship and growing closer to Jesus.
The Groups will start meeting in mid February and will meet for 6 weeks. After the 6 weeks people can then decide if they would like to keep meeting as a Group or if they would like to pursue something else, which may include joining another group or starting a group of their own.
The Sermon Based Study Groups are a great opportunity to get involved and check out the benefits of being in a Small Group. If you have questions or would like to join a group please contact Kristy McGovern 303-688-2513 or email at kmcgovern@ehills.org
