Stephen Ministry at Eastern Hills Community Church...

  • Creates a caring ministry where many instead of a few are offering God's love and care in intentional and systematic ways.
  • Enables our entire congregation to grow as a warm, loving, nurturing community where people are cherished and cared for in Jesus Christ.
  • Identifies our congregation to our community as a place where people's needs are taken seriously.

Do you have a heart for those who are hurting or struggling with life? Do others seek you out to share their circumstances?

Then please consider joining our Stephen Ministry team. Eastern Hills Stephen Ministers

  • Receive 50 hours of initial training in important caring ministry skills and concepts.
  • Make a two year commitment to serve as a Stephen Minister once they have completed their initial training.
  • Participate in twice monthly supervision where they are given support from fellow Stephen Ministers and Stephen Leaders.
  • Express God's care through their lives to others.
  • Visit another person regularly and dependably and offer Christian support and care.
  • Are committed to preserving the confidential nature of the caring relationship.
  • Receive continuing education and skill building throughout their years of service.

I'm interested now what?

  • The next step is to download and complete the Stephen Ministry application. You may also pickup an application at the Care Ministry kiosk in the church lobby. Once complete please return to Vickie Brown. To be considered for the January training class applications must be received no later than November 8, 2009.
  • When your application and references have been reviewed, you will be contacted to schedule a face to face interview. This will allow Stephen Leadership to get to know you better and answer any questions you may have.

If you would like an application or want more information please contact either:
