Philosophy
First and foremost, we are a Christian school. The children will learn about God's care for them and Jesus' love for them. In addition, we want the children to develop a good foundation for learning and an awareness and interest in the world around them. We also want them to have the joy of discovery.
We believe that children learn best through play. Children use play to master new skills. We provide opportunities, through play and exploration, for the children to grow emotionally, socially, spiritually, physically and cognitively.
We recognize that children develop and grow at their own pace and in their own way. Teachers treat each child as an individual. Developmental differences are celebrated!
We want children to grow up with a good self-image, a good understanding of themselves and a feeling of independence and strength within themselves. We want them to grow up with an anti-bias attitude and an appreciation of all of God's children.
We want to children to grow up with the ability to get along with others, as well as, find peaceful solutions to conflict.
We view our program as an extension of home. We do not take the place of home; rather, we involve families and parents in our programs in an effect to provide children with a sense of connectedness between home and school. There are opportunities for parent involvement, whether in the classroom, on a field trip or serving on a parent board.
Monthly newsletters are sent home to inform parents of what is happening in the center. We communicate closely with parents through formal and informal conferences throughout the year. As well, we promote an "Open Door" policy with your child's teachers and the director of the center. You are always welcome to come and talk with us, at anytime, regarding your child, the program, or any concerns you may have. Parents are considered to be an important part of our program!
Our teachers are well trained through past education, experience and continuing education classes, in order to provide the highest quality of care. In addition all of our staff have undergone background investigations, finger printing with local authorities and are CPR and First Aid trained.
We firmly believe we offer the type of program in which we do what is best for children. We love what we do and feel that an experience in any of our programs at EHCC Preschool will be a very positive one for your child.
